Mother of Dolores O’Riordan speaks out following daughter’s death

Dolores O’Riordan’s mother has spoken publicly for the first time since her daughters untimely death.

Eileen O’Riordan and her family spoke about the support they received from the people around them.

She explained that the tributes and prayers had been a great source of comfort for the family.

“We want to thank all the people of Limerick who have remembered Dolores this week,” Eileen told the Limerick Leader.

She added: “The people who queued to sign the book of condolence – some of them standing in the rain – it has meant a huge amount to us and has been a great source of comfort.”

Dolores has six siblings and has three children aged 20, 16 and 12.

The Cranberries singer’s funeral is set to take place at Ballybricken church, and her final resting place is set to be Caherelly Cemetery where her father Terence was laid to rest in 2011.

Her boyfriend Ole Korestsky paid a heartbreaking tribute to Dolores this week.

In the lengthy statement, he said:  “My friend, partner, and the love of my life is gone.”

He added: “My heart is broken and it is beyond repair.”

Dolores died suddenly on Monday morning on the 15th of January.
