Michael Flatley is in high spirits as we catch up with him.
While he has some very tumultuous things happening in his private life, he is keeping positive. He has had to leave his home in Cork after an extremely hazardous chemical residue was detected in the property.
He has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in 2023.
He admits that speaking about his diagnosis is “not my favourite subject”!
Speaking in the June issue of VIP Magazine, he says: “It’s a positive mental attitude that gets you through these things. It’s certainly what gets me through it and makes me determined to carry on.
“I pray for everyone who has cancer and please, please just keep a positive mental attitude, it’s so important.”
He went on to say: “It really hits home when you’re in a place like that and you realise that you might not come out. It really brings life into focus.
“I remember lying there looking up at the white ceiling and it was so stark and I just kept thinking, ‘Have I done enough in my life? Have I followed my dreams? Have I really gone after everything I ever wanted?’
“I really don’t want to look back with regrets, that’s the one promise I have made to myself.”
Well, he has an incredible life and created and led some of the most iconic dance performances in the world.
