Maura Higgins had a hilarious reaction to romance rumours after fan leaked holiday photos: ‘I just called him embarrassing’

Maura Higgins is back home baby! And so it was only fitting that the Queen of Love Island, join the iconic Late Late Show Valentines’ Special, chatting through all things love and romance for her grand return.

The Longford legend chatted through all things relationship related, even helping a few members of the audience, doling out her wisdom.

But it wouldn’t be a chat about love without Maura sharing her own relationship status, telling host Ryan Tubridy, she “couldn’t be more single if I tried.”

The model even shared her reaction after seeing rumours of a holiday romance between herself and an American business man she met in Mexico.

Shutting down any mention of a romance between the pair, Maura explained: “I’m on holidays with a group of friends and you mingle on holidays and there was a group of guys next to us at our table and they joined us.”

“There’s a photo of one of them kissing me on the cheek and I don’t know where this photo came from because I don’t have it on my phone. I think one of his friends took it and he probably leaked the photo.”

So how did Miss Higgins react? Well, in a throwback to her villa days, when she wasn’t afraid to put the boys in their place, Maura called him out for it.

“I’m not going to lie; I did give him some abuse on Instagram. I did DM him over. I just called him embarrassing, like “you’re embarrassing,” There is just no need for that.”

Elsewhere during their chat, Maura also opened up about how her life had changed since her days on Love Island in 2019.

“I’m doing really well, like I’ve adjusted. It was very scary when you first come out of the villa. Like I moved countries as well, so it was a lot.”

“I think I did struggle a bit. I remember like, the first week, interviews, TV, radio, photoshoots… It’s all go, go, go. I remember like paparazzi chasing my cars, banging on the window and it was quite scary. I’m not gonna lie. It was it was tough,” she revealed.

Confessing that she was unprepared for the fame as Maura did actually think she’d last on the show, saying: “I genuinely thought I was gonna go on the show and last the week.”
