We love a bit of sustainability!

Whether that be up cycling your clothes or buying pre-loved pieces to extend your wardrobe.

Even Mairead Ronan is on the sustainability horse, as she showed off her daughter Eliza bringing some eighties chic into 2022. We commend her for it!

The TV presenter explained that her own mother knitted the beautiful pink ensemble that is made up of a cardigan and matching hat.

Her five-year-old beamed at the camera as she replicated her mother’s fashion forward fit. She included a shot of herself back in the eighties wearing the home made look with her family.

“My Eliza bear wearing an Aran cardigan & matching hat that was hand knit by my mam 1986 /1987,” she wrote on Instagram.

“She would have loved to see one of her grandchildren wear it too. Its still in perfect condition-prooving quality knits last!”

“Swipe to me wearing it back in the day  with mam, dad and my MUCH older sisters. *I swear to god we were happier than we look in the 80s pics.”

Immediately she was inundated with messages from her friends including Anna Geary who wrote, “Awwww fab.”

“I love this,” Glenda Gilson enthused.

The sweet image comes after Mairead made the decision to step back from her Today FM presenting gig to spend more time with her young children.

She told VIP Magazine at the time, “I feel very lucky that I have been able to choose to step back.”

She went on to say that it was odd that she had to justify her decision, “I suppose if I was a teacher I’d just be taking a career break, that’s what I feel like I’m doing.”
