Maïa Dunphy has been open over the last year about her grief following the death of her late mother.
This week she shared the tribute her father, Tom created for her mother, Helen.
She took to Instagram to share the beautiful bench that had found its home in their local green.
The bench featured a plaque that was dedicated to her mother.

“Helen Dunphy. Beloved Wife, Mum and Friend. 27 Feb 2022,” the plaque read.
“My Dad has had a beautiful bench installed in a local green space in memory of our lovely Mum,” Maïa wrote on social media as she shared pictures of the beautiful bench.
“Even over a year on, it’s still surreal to see her name on a memorial of any kind; she was so vibrant and enjoyed life so much. She had much more to do, but we’ll do it for her. We miss you Mama. X”
Referencing a picture of her with her arm over the bench, she joked: “(And yes, she would say “why does your arm look like a dinosaur leg in that photo?)”
Last year, Maïa shared the sad news that her mam passed away from cancer and that she “bore her recent awful illness with the same stoicism she has approached everything in life, and those of you who know her well, will know how much has happened in these last difficult weeks and how she showed concern for everyone else until her last breath”.
