TV3 presenter Lucy Kennedy has just celebrated her 40th birthday and she is looking better than ever. Speaking to VIP in this month’s magazine – out today – Lucy told us all about finally feeling comfortable in her own skin.

When asked about how she’s feeling now about her weight and body image, Lucy said that she’s feeling positive and happy with how she looks, and is feeling more confident than ever.

“I think I’m getting easier, in that care less. Perhaps because I’m simply more comfortable in my own skin…I’ve accepted I’m never going to be a size zero. The breakfast rolls aren’t helping though,” she laughed.

Although Lucy admitted that when she started her career her appearance was a concern, she never obsessed over it. She also revealed that she doesn’t go to the gym, but she enjoys yoga. How refreshing!

“When I started on telly, at 28, I did think everyone else was so thin. I didn’t obsess, but I did worry that I was bigger than other girls. But it never got in on me…I love yoga. The likes of me needs yoga, because I’m busy, busy, busy. Busy mind, busy life,” she told us.

Lucy also disclosed to us that she had considered getting botox or other cosmetic surgery in the past, but she now embraces her scars and doesn’t think she could go through with any non-essential procedures.

“Five years ago I said I’d get everything done when I turned 40. I was going to turn into Georgia Salpa on the 21st of April 2016. And I haven’t even gotten my nails done….And you know what? I have a C-section scar from when Jack was born. And I used to wish it would go away. Now I embrace my scars. They are like life wounds,” she admitted.
