Louis Walsh and Jason Byrne have had to step in and help fellow Ireland’s Got Talent judges Denise Van Outen and Michelle Visage when it comes to various accents on the show.

The show, which is proudly sponsored by Domino’s, began filming a couple of weeks ago and the judges have been presented with a whole host of talent from each corner of the country.

The two ladies, Michelle from the US and Denise from the UK, sometimes found it tricky to keep up with various tones from different counties.

Speaking to VIP Magazine, host of the show, Lucy Kennedy said, “ At times very strong accents came out on stage and I could see Michelle and Denise looking a little bit confused, but between Jason and Louis, they explained what was happening.

“We don’t realise how fast we talk as a nation, but we do speak quite quickly. Americans and people from England are much slower when they speak.”

Michelle has been immersing herself in the Irish culture over the last few weeks, learning some of our native tongue – as well as a bit off GAA.

“I think she is Irish. This whole American thing is just an act. Michelle definitely has the Irish sense of humour,” Lucy said.

She continued, “They’re brilliant – all the judges are totally different but that’s why they work. They’re lovely. They’re really nice.”

This year, the winner of the show will go home with €50,000 and as well as being presented with the Domino’s All Star award.

Lucy reveals that there have been some stand-out contestants on this series of the show, and has given her opinion on what is required for an All-Star winner.

“There have been some acts and the hair really does stand on the back of your arm.

“Because I’m a mum, I think it’d be nice if it was a child,” she said.

“I really just think it’s someone who wants it most. For the people who are auditioning for Ireland’s Got Talent, this is potentially a life-changer for them. I think the person who deserves it the most.”
