Laura Whitmore has responded to claims that she tried to ‘humiliate’ a Love Island contestant on live television.
It comes as Laura interviewed Remi, the latest islander to be dumped from the reality TV show on spin-off-show After Sun.
Many people noted that Remi appeared visibly nervous while chatting on camera. Towards the end of the show the contestant was asked to rap in front of the audience and viewers at home, with many feeling that it was unfair given his nervousness.
However, Laura has shared her thoughts on the situation, explaining that Remi wanted to take the opportunity to show off his rapping skills with no push from her or the producers.
“Remi is a rapper and asked in good faith in advance if he’d rap and prepare something which he did”
“Live Telly is nerve wrecking, believe me, so maybe he was a bit nervous but he deserved to have his time.”
She added: “Also I want to make Remi & Afia happen!”
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin media Two and Virgin Media Player.
