Despite being highly acclaimed in the entertainment world for her work as a presenter, it seems even MTV veteran Laura Whitmore is subject to some online trolling.

The presenter found her feet in the UK and has been working abroad for nearly a decade, but that didn’t halt the online abuse once she started working on I’m A Celebrity.

The Bray native was subjected to extremely harsh comments, including people telling her to go back to her own country.

Speaking to Irish Tatler, the presenter said, “You have to take things with a pinch of salt. It does help talking to people because things get you down.”

She continued, “When I first started on I’m A Celeb, because I had an Irish accent, people were saying horrible things like, ‘Go back to your own country.’

“But these people are hiding being a computer screen And then you have people telling you you’re the best thing since sliced bread, you’re amazing, which you’re not either.”

Laura arrived over in Oz recently to begin shooting the latest series of the reality show, and has shared a sweet collage of pictures she keeps to remind her of home.
