“News!!! I’m joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story from September 6th! Come see me on stage making my West End debut in this critically-acclaimed psychological thriller. For a limited run only, Book now!” she wrote alongside a poster of the play.

She will play Jenny in the play, whose synopsis reads: “Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again?

“Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer. So they’re going to stay up until 2:22….and then they’ll know.”

She was immediately inundated with messages from her friends congratulating her on her good news.

“Soooo excited about this babe! Congrats,” Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattinson wrote.

Love Island star Amy Hart commented: “Love this show! Will be there.”

“Let’s go Laura so proud honey,” Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse.

“Wow!! Break all the legs!” Maia Dunphy gushed.

It comes after she delighted fans by announcing her new television project.

The rumour mill went into overdrive when she announced her decision to step back from her radio slot on BBC Radio 5.

She confirmed what she will be working on in a cryptic post and we are certainly intrigued.

It looks like she will be heading into the investigative journalism sphere as she announced her next project is called “Laura Whitmore Investigates”.

“New TV project coming soon…” she captioned the picture.

However, she has yet to share any other details about what the series could entail.

Of course, Laura has a true crime podcast with her husband Iain Stirling. Now it looks like she is set to delve into the world of crime truly.

Congratulations Laura!
