If there’s one thing we know how to do in Ireland, it’s how to produce some pretty entertaining TV series links.

One actor who knows all too well about that is Kin star, Sam Keeley.

Renowned for his portrayal of the character Eric ‘Viking’ Kinsella, it looks like Sam will now be moving from the hit crime-drama to a comedy-drama in the form of RTÉ’s The Dry.

Yes, the Offaly native appeared in all 16 episodes of Kin but is currently mixing it up a bit as he has joins the cast of The Dry which has begun shooting its second series in and around Dublin.

Sam will play “charming” barista Alex, who may be a possible love interest for recovering alcoholic Shiv, played by Roisin Gallagher.

Also joining the cast are Game of Thrones’ Michael McElhatton and Derry Girls’ Thommas Kane Byrne, who will play the roles of Finbar and Billy respectively.

Season two picks up seven months on from the events of the first series, where we will meet the Sheridans in their new normal.

According to the official synopsis for the show: “To all outward appearances, it seems like the family is relatively content.

“Shiv’s been sober, celibate, and solvent for six months, Ant has hung onto his job at the estate agents and his relationship with Max, and Caroline’s making up for a lost time by enjoying herself on Tinder.

“So far, so normal… Or is it? After all, how normal is it for three grown adults to still be living at home with their parents?

“And are the Sheridans really happy with this new status quo, or have they just rearranged their dysfunction and found another groove of denial to fit into?”

Oh, we can’t wait for this one!
