Kathryn, who has just finished filming the current series of Operation Transformation, and her husband, Pádraig welcomed their second child into the world last year, revealing the news to social media at the time they said; “Welcome to the world little angel. Our gorgeous girl, Grace Anne McLoughlin was born safely on Tues 26th @ 11.35am weighing 8lbs 3oz.”

Kathryn has opened up in the past about their difficulty when conceiving Ellie. Speaking previously on Doireann Garrihy’s The Laughs Of Your Life podcast she said; “I’ve talked a lot about this at this point, that myself and Pádraig, we struggled a lot to bring Ellie into the world and it was quite a long journey.”

Speaking about this with VIP Magazine she shared; “For us to have this opportunity to have a second child we do not take that lightly at all.”

Síle too has shared her own difficult journey to motherhood, and it’s an experience both she and Kathryn share. The Irish TV presenter revealed her pregnancy news on Instagram back in June of last year, sharing: “Anyone who has been following me for a while knows the past two years for me, on a personal level, have been challenging because I’ve gone through two miscarriages.”

“My news is that I am pregnant. I am sixteen weeks, I am feeling overjoyed. At the moment there is a lot baby news on Instagram, which is beautiful, but I also know what it’s like when it’s something you want yourself. I didn’t expect to be this emotional. I’m so happy and feeling so lucky but it hasn’t been an easy road.”

She continued; “I wanted to say this for a while but the time didn’t feel right. I know it can be hard to see scan images, or bump images so I’ll be very mindful of what I post going forward. Huge love, especially to those of you who need it.”
