Yesterday, he apologised to fans for the now-infamous photos of him slugging from a vodka bottle in broad daylight on a London street.
Now, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has proved to fans that he is “back on track” after sharing a snap of him and his fiancee looking both healthy and happy.
In a photo that shows the Tudors star (38) looking a million miles away from his disheveled appearance in the recent drinking pictures, Jonathan and his beau Mara Lane captioned the pic, “Wishing you a lovely day and rest of week. With Love, J&M,”
The Cork native, who has a well-documented battle with alcohol, shared the picture on Mara’s Instagram account, as he does not have any online presence.
Yesterday, he also shared a post on her profile explaining the photos that raised widespread concern for his health.
“I apologise for having a minor relapse and hope that people don’t think too badly of me,” he wrote.
“I stopped drinking immediately and it is no reflection of Damascus Cover [his new movie] as I was not meant to attend Cannes this year and I apologise to friends and colleagues.”
He added: “I am on the mend and thank well wishers and sorry for my dishevelled appearance as I was on my home from a friend’s and had not changed. I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was a little blip in my recovery, otherwise I’m living a healthy life. Love and blessing #Rebel #Angel.”
