Jennifer Zamparelli might be leaving social media.
That is if her daughter asks if, more likely when she asks, can she get her accounts.
“I have a life span on social media,“ she tells us as she gears up to share her motherly wisdom on her podcast with Lottie Ryan.
Jen & Lottie Do.…Parenting is set to launch next week and VIP Magazine sat down with Jennifer before it hits streaming services.
Speaking about her biggest fear as a mother, she admits that it’s all to do with social media.
“I was so freaked out about having a girl who will want to be on social media someday,“ she tells us.
She admits that she is “so strict“ in regard to social media and rarely posts her two children seven-year-old Florence and four-year-old Enzo on her Instagram.
“All that stresses me out,“ she confesses at the thought of her two children online. “The real parenting starts when they’re older.“
Of course, she knows that at some point her children will ask her for phones. But she is adamant against it and confesses that she will leave social media so her children can’t brand her a hypocrite.
“I don’t care what their friends are doing, it’s not happening,“ she says firmly.
The topic of social media is one of the reasons why Jennifer and Lottie started the podcast. When faced with the idea of her children online there was nowhere she could turn.
“There’s no handbook for this,“ she simply says.
And she can’t rely on her own parents to share their wisdom on this front as there was nothing comparable when she was growing up.
“Parenting in the eighties and nineties was very different,“ she admits, continuing to say: “It’s so different to our parents.“
Jen & Lottie Do….Parenting will be available to listen to wherever you get your podcasts and to watch on YouTube from Wednesday 10th May
