Following the arrival of her beautiful baby girl Ellie, Kathryn Thomas’ upcoming wedding is back at the forefront of her mind.
The RTE star and fiancé Padraig Mcloughlin put wedding plans on hold to focus all their attention on the newborn. Now that Ellie’s six months old, the couple feel like they can start looking into it again.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Kathryn said, “When you get engaged, straight away you say, ‘Let’s make plans’. We went to see venues and did guest lists.
“Then when you go on a pregnancy journey which we did, which had its ups and downs if you like, it’s not a priority anymore. Now she’s here, it’s allowing us to get focused again.”

The presenter doesn’t want anything too formal when they tie the knot next year – instead, just a big shindig with their nearest and dearest.
“I just love a big party,” she said.
“Padraig would be much more sentimental, wanting just friends and family around, whereas I’m like, ‘It’s been a while since I’ve had a big party’.”
Kathryn previously told VIP Magazine, “My ethos on the whole day is it has to be good craic, it’s not stuffy and everyone has a great time and the craic is good.
“I’m not really into the white tablecloth and the bows on the back of chairs and all of that stuff, so I think something that’s very stripped back is where my head is at.”
The pair will marry in Summer 2019, and regardless of what they choose to do, we’re sure it’ll be a beautiful day.
