Exactly a year to the day since proposing to his girlfriend, Fiona Creely, former Dublin football star Eamon Fennell walked down the aisle with her in Clongowes College Church, Co. Kildare, surrounded by a host of his footballing friends. Which means that on a single New Year’s Eve, three GAA stars – Kerry’s Paul Galvin, and Dublin footballers Stephen Cluxton and Eamon Fennell – all walked up the aisle!

Eamon popped the question to Fiona, whom he met back in 2011, during a romantic New Year’s Break in New York, and admitted that the run up to the big day has been a busy one for him, telling The Herald “It’s certainly been all go and there has been plenty to do so that has been my priority lately.” Since retiring from GAA, Eamon has proven himself an astute businessman, setting up his shoe company – Sole Sister Flats – as well as making regular radio appearances.
