After thirteen years off air, Blind Date is reportedly making a comeback to our tv screens. The hit show was formerly fronted by the late Cilla Black, and is now set to be taken over by Graham Norton.
Blind Date finished up on ITV in 2003, and the reboot is set to have a new home at Chanel 5; and So Television, the production company behind The Graham Norton Show, will be producing the programme.
Although a number of presenters including Holly Willoughby, Rylan Clarke and Davina McCall are being considered to fill Cilla’s shoes, Cork native Graham is the hot favourite.
A source told The Sun that a revamp of Blind Date would be hugely popular in the digital age of online dating, and now’s the right time for its return.
“Blind Date is the original dating show and it’s huge news to bring it back. It’s a classic format that will be rebooted to make it young, sexy and modern.
“Expect sparks to fly. In an age of Tinder, you have got to earn the right to love on this show,” the source said.
We would definitely tune in for this!
