The X Factor and The Eurovision often see a crossover when it comes to singers.

From X Factor finalist Saara Aalto representing Finland in the Eurovision in 2018 to Lucy Jones performing for the UK in Eurovision 2017, and being a contestant on The X Factor years earlier.

But now fans of both shows will be seeing this happen in reverse as an Irish Eurovision finalist auditions for the X Factor.

Brendan Murray, who was a member of Hometown along with Dayl Cronin, is set to take part in the 15th series of The X Factor.

The singer represented Ireland at the Eurovision in 2017 with a song called Dying to Try.

Now he’s giving stardom another go by heading along to the reality show, and rumour has it that former judge Louis Walsh will return to the show.

Louise has been Brendan’s manager from his time in Hometown to his stint on the Eurovision.

Would you like to see Brendan take home the top prize?
