Alisha Weir will soon become a household name thanks to her role in Matilda: The Musical.
The 13-year-old actress landed the leading incredible role in the adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved novel which has hit cinemas just in time for Christmas.
Now a video has gone viral of the heartwarming moment when she learned she was cast in the movie.
The clip was shared by her big sister Katie as Alisha was on a video call with the director.

In the video, he can be heard saying how impressed he was by her talent over the course of the audition process before telling her that she had the role.
“We really were so impressed with all the times that I met you – how sharp your mind is, how great your concentration is and what a good listener you are,” he says.
“All of these skills you’ve got as well as your terrific singing and everything. Anyway, we’d like to offer you the part of Matilda in the film.”
Alisha, who is from Dublin, looks absolutely shocked saying, “No way. Thank you,” before her parents both come in to embrace her.

Alisha made her performing debut on the Late Late Toy Show when she sang True Colours back in 2017. So there was no doubt that she was going to be a star.
