Sile Seoige has shared a positive health update with her followers.

The TV presenter battled thryroid cancer in 2012 and was given the ‘all clear’ in January of this year.

She visited her doctor this week for a check-up and was delighted with the results.

“I’m just out of my six month check up with my oncologist, who is the most gorgeous man,” she said.

“It’s times like this I feel like I am just bursting with gratitude – I’m feeling so lucky.”

“Oncology waiting rooms are incredibly sobering places – it puts everything into perspective and makes you realise, when you’re in my lucky position of being out the other side, you feel so incredibly thankful and that’s exactly how I feel now.”

The Galway woman explained that she feels it’s crucial to keep up to date on her health.

“All is good. I had my bloods done and all that craic; I’m booked in for a chest x-ray and a throat ultrasound in the New Year, which is so important I have no problem doing that,” she added.

Sile welcomed her baby boy Cathal in August and said that being a mum has given her even more of a perspective on the importance of her health.

“At this time of year, I feel luckier than ever, natural being a new mum- the importance of my health… not just for me, but now I need to be healthy and well for my baby and I will be and I am.

“I’m going to go have a bit of a cry because it’s what I do. If you are are going through any kind of illness, just know there is a lot of good out there, not just in the medical community, but otherwise. People are good and want to help. Listen to your body, trust your instincts. Early detection is so Important.”

We’re delighted she is doing so well!
