Alan Hughes pops the question to partner Karl Broderick on Ireland AM!
Tv3 presenter Alan Hughes got down on one knee on air this morning to propose to his long term partner , Karl Broderick.
The proposal comes hot on the heels of the Marriage Bill 2015 being signed into law in Ireland.
Although the pair, who have been together almost 22 years, are already civil partners, Alan wanted to make their commitment to one another officially equal.
Speaking today after proposing to long term partner Karl, Alan said: “I just felt it was the right time with the week thats in it, with the passing of the Marriage Bill. Karl proposed to me after Celebrity Salon and I just felt this was the right time to make my feelings clear to him and what better place than the Ireland AM set, which is very much like home, surrounded by my TV family.
