Much to his devastation, Alan Hughes revealed yesterday that the hotel he hoped to marry in on September 30 had cancelled all wedding ceremonies due to renovations taking place.
Since then, the Phoenicia Hotel in Malta has hit back at the claims, saying it was Alan who cancelled due to family reasons and that they’d be able to facilitate the wedding no problem.
According to The Sun, the hotel labelled Alan’s remarks as “categorically untrue,” before saying, “Hopefully they will still get married here, but at a later date. They said they cancelled for family reasons.”
The Ireland AM star has since cleared things up by telling The Sun, “The hotel didn’t cancel our booking, I cancelled the date because we didn’t want to take the chance.
“I’m told it will be amazing when it’s finished, but I wouldn’t take a chance on all our friends and family booking flights and the hotel not being ready.”
Hopefully they’ll still be able to marry in their dream hotel some day!
