He may be one of the highest paid sports stars in the world, but Rory McIlroy still doesn’t mind standing in line like the rest of us.
The pro golfer was spotted queueing for The Titanic Belfast tourist attraction alongside his girlfriend Erica Stoll.
Onlookers were shocked to see the pair waiting in line like everyone else, and paying for their own tickets when they finally got to the top of the queue.
It’s not unusual for celebrities to ring ahead and give advanced notice about their visits to the centre, but the number 1 golfer in the world shunned any form of VIP treatment.
One fellow visitor reportedly said: “Rory looked quite content to do his own thing without any fuss and at the end of his tour collected his souvenir like everyone else.”
The loved up pair first went public with their relationship at The Irish Open in Newcastle, Northern Ireland in May, and since then have only made a few public appearances together.
Rory first met his girlfriend-to-be in 2012 but at the time he was in a relationship with tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki, who he later called off his engagement to.
PGA employee Erica famously noticed his absence during the 2012 Ryder Cup and was the one who ensured that he didn’t get disqualified from the competition.
It’s believed that the low-key couple only stepped things up a notch late last year and managed to keep things under wraps for a number of months, Rory ended things with his former fiance in May 2014.
