Dayl Cronin has released his first solo track since Hometown’s split in 2016, and admits the boys are hugely supportive of his latest endeavour.

The group decided to go their separate ways almost two years ago, with some of them going on to pursue solo careers.

Brendan Murray represented Ireland at the Eurovision in 2017 with his track Dying To Try, while Ryan Mack released his song Nobody Like You in September of last year.

Following his appearance on Dancing with the Stars, Dayl has been focusing more on his music career, and just brought out his debut single, Runaway Love.

“I am thrilled to be back in music but also very nervous because it’s my first solo track,” he told VIP Magazine.

“I was scared of the reaction it was going to get, but everyone has been so nice and supportive – it’s amazing.”

Even his former bandmates have had nothing but praise for the track, much to Dayl’s delight.

“The boys are all supportive,” he said. “We all support each other in our new ventures. They all said they love the song.”

The Tipperary native hopes to release more music down the line and plans to get out on the road, touring his tracks, in the near future.

“I would love to tour. I would love to do a support tour first and then maybe my own,” he said.

“But you never know. Watch this space!”

You can listen to his single on Spotify or iTunes now.
