‘Heatwave’ on its way as temperatures are set to soar

It looks like it might be time to stock up on the factor 50 as some ‘tropical’ weather is heading straight for us.

Heading into the hottest days of the year we’ve experienced so far, Met Eireann is predicting that temperatures will get up to the mid-20s this week.

While yesterday and much of today (Tuesday 13th) isn’t anything to get too excited about, Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather expects that things will begin to pick up from this evening onwards, with the good weather continuing into this weekend.

“The Azores high is going to slowly move up over  Ireland through the next week”

“While there might be the odd shower earlier in the week.”

“However by later in the week we’re looking at some fine settled weather.”

By this Friday, Met Eireann has reported that they believe we will see temperatures of up to 25 degrees in parts of the country.

“As high pressure builds through the week it’ll turn drier, warmer & gradually sunnier with temperatures widely into the low to mid-twenties.”
