Attention music lovers, we have a brand new gig announcement!

That’s right folks, the latest artist to announce a Dublin show this summer is none other than Grammy-winning musician and actress Janelle Monáe.

One of the most celebrated acts of our generation, Janelle fuses a blend of genres – soul, funk, hip hop and new wave – with big concepts and slick pop productions.

It’s been a few years since Janelle Monáe last visited Irish shores, having played at the Trinity Summer Series in 2019, but now she’s returning once again, embarking on a European tour that includes a stop-off at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 6th.

Monáe – who was recently seen in ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ – has just released a new single ‘Float’ with Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 which is already a contender for song of the summer.

For her gig at Iveagh, she’ll be playing all the biggest hits from her back catalogue.

This will give her plenty to pick from for live performances, from 2010’s genre-bending debut album The Archandroid and 2013’s The Electric Lady, which featured collaborations with Prince, Solange and Erykah Badu, right through to 2018’s Dirty Computer.

Tickets for the performance go on sale this Friday, 31st March at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie and can be purchased here.
