Get The Look: Laura Fox’s Y2K inspired hair style

Laura Fox looked like she stepped straight out of a Y2K dream board when she walked the Platinum VIP Style Awards red carpet on Friday night.

The 2FM presenter was a pink and purple dream as she posed for shots in her feathered mini-dress.

Earlier in the day, she stopped by the Beauty Suite to get her brunette locks styled by Platinum Hair Extensions.

Laura wanted something chic and practical, admitting that she wanted to pull her hair away from her face to combat the heat!

“I can’t cope with this heat! So for a red carpet look, I wanted to go for a half-up, half-down style so some of the hair was pulled away from my face,” she explained.

Platinum Hair Extension stylist Lauren then let us in on the secret behind the chic look, telling VIP Magazine, “We were going for something trendy with the style. We went for curls that were straight at the end to make it more modern.”

“We added more texture to the hair with the high pony which suits her really well.”

The simple but chic look is super easy to get at home and all you need are four steps.

Firstly scrape your hair back away from your face and separate the piece you want in the ponytail from the rest. Secure your pony in place with a clear bobbin.

Part it at the nape of the neck, near your hair line and backcomb this section before adding hairspray to give it some texture. This allows you to add your Platinum Hair Extension clip-in easily.

Repeat this method about two inches above.

Curl your hair loosely but don’t go to the very end of your hair to create that modern look.
