Garth Brooks saw plenty of his Irish fans when he played a show-stopping five nights in Croke Park, earlier this month. But as it turns out Garth is a fan himself, sharing his love for country star Lisa McHugh.
Lisa, who has cited Garth as an inspiration, posted a cover of his song, The River. Playing the guitar and singing away at home, as her son, Milo cooed in the background.
But while watching a highlight reel from his time in Ireland, Garth saw her video, and was very impressed.
Taking to social media her gushed: “Wow…what a beautiful voice. Oh my gosh, what a beautiful human being, beautiful voice, beautiful baby. That’s nice, I love that song.”
Naturally Lisa was thrilled to been featured, and noticed by the icon.
Writing on social media: “Woke up this morning to see my little man and I featured last night in Garth Brooks live from Studio G when talking through highlights of his 5 nights in Dublin!”
“WHAT A TUESDAY!!!”
Garth absolutely loved his time in Ireland, speaking during his fifth concert, Garth told the crowd, he was “crying like a baby” during his trip to around the country, these past two weeks.
Stressing how he was not trying to, “kiss the ass” of Irish fans but gushed: “some countries excel in some things. You excel in being sweet to each other and kind to people who visit.”
Continuing: “I just love playing here. Once you have tasted it here, you can’t come back here quick enough,”
“At the same time, you don’t want to wear the people out.”
“Thank you for loving me!”
He also wrapped himself in the tri-colour during concert. After the gig, he took to social media, writing: “I’m not from here, but you make me feel like I so belong here! I LOVE YOU, IRELAND”
