After two years of things on hold due to the pandemic, it seems in 2022 we are set to be treated with a huge amount of really great TV. One of the many series we’re most looking forward to hitting our screens is the TV adaptation of Cecelia Ahern’s ‘Roar’.

This week the author shared some of the first promo images for the series, including one of Hollywood A-lister, Nicole Kidman in character.

Posting the pictures to social media she said; “So excited! Here we go!! Get ready to #ROAR with these phenomenal women & more on April 15th only on @appletvplus – based on my collection of short stories ROAR, created by co-show runners Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch.”

“PS. Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh” she added.

The book is an anthology of 30 short stories, which she has described as a “fiercely feminist story collection” and was released back in 2018. The series, which is  produced by the people behind Glow and Orange is the New Black, will be spread out over eight episodes at thirty minutes each and is described by creators as”A story for every woman. A story for every moment.”

It was announced last year that A-lister Nicole Kidman is on board for the series, as well as Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie. Kidman’s production company, Blossom Films, is also involved in the show’s production.

Of course we are already familiar with Cecelia’s work making the transition from page to screen. Her book Where Rainbow’s End, was adapted into a film called Love, Rosie.

Perhaps more famously, her book P.S I Love You also made it to the big screen back in 2007.

The show is set to stream on Apple TV from the 15th of April this year.
