We all love a wedding, but two…. well, there’s something magical about that kind of epic love.
Dr Niamh Shaw and her husband decided to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony for those who couldn’t make the original ceremony back in February.
While you may know Niamh from her stint on Fair City ten years ago, many know her now as an award winning scientist who had a dream of going to space. She even made it her mission to do so.
In 2022 she was named as a champion for her work exploring the wonders of outer space by the European Space Agency.
Taking to Instagram Niamh posted a number of photos from the special day with her loved ones.

She captioned the post: “Happy July 4th to my US family and friends! It’s the first year of what I hope will be many Independence Days in my new Irish American role with this wonderful person, David.”
The couple first married in February but decided to renew their vows so anyone who couldn’t make the first wedding could be there to witness their love.
She continued saying: “Since we married in the US last February with just our friends Rich & Catt, the families missed it first-time round. We kept it small to just 11 people- Mam & Dad, my brother and sister, my nephew Padraic and representing the Bushmans, my beautiful step-daughter.”

Niamh donned the same gold dress she wore for the first occasion for the special day revealing it was already a second hand purchase from her favourite consignment store @unitksandymount – we love a sustainable queen!
She thanked everyone who attended for coming and added “Surpassed anything we had imagined. It was a very special day, surrounded by love and family”.
Just to top it all off she revealed they were headed off on a trip first to Botswana and then on to Brazil for a month.
We’re not jealous at all!
