Successful fashion designer and presenter Darren Kennedy has opened up about the difficulties he has endured throughout his life, whether it be that he’s been bullied, or that he constantly felt like an outsider.
Darren revealed that instead of dwelling on the negatives, he turned these feelings into a positive attribute by embracing them.
Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, he said “I remember feeling like a complete outsider- all my life actually, and still to this day. I’ve embraced being an outsider, thats my thing.
“That’s what I’ve learned throughout my career- taking what seems to be an obstacle or what other people perceive as a failure and turning it into an opportunity. It’s all about the mind frame.”
Although Darren admitted to not feeling confident all the time, he doesn’t have time for negative thoughts and feels nothing good can come from them.
When asked about how he feels about the bullies now, he admits that he never even thinks of them, but hopes they’re doing well.
“No, I don’t even think about them! Negative thoughts are a waste of energy. Nothing good comes from them. What am I going to get from them? Nothing. I just hope life is treating them well.”
We should all take a leaf out of his book. Read the full interview with Darren Kennedy in this month’s VIP Magazine, out now.
