Evanne Ní Chuilinn has opened up about missing out on her dream job in RTÉ.
The broadcaster adores sports and has made a career out of her passion.
Most recently she had been bringing us all the drama from the 2024 Olympics from the RTÉ studio.
But she admitted that she was “devastated” when she missed out on The Sunday Game presenter gig.
Des Cahill stepped away from The Sunday Game in 2022 and Evanne threw her hat in the ring to take over.
“I really wanted that job. I was devastated, but I never told anyone I was,” she told the RTÉ Guide.
“I put my head down and kept going. So, to get to do the Olympics and know I did a good job made me feel a little less frustrated.
Jacqui Hurley was announced as the new host last year. Evanne is, of course, delighted for her colleague.

“There’s been jobs that have come up that I’ve been in the running for, that I’ve done as a substitute for different people and when the job itself comes up, I didn’t get it. That’s really disappointing and disheartening,” she admitted.
We can’t wait to see Evanne share her knowledge during the Paralympic Games!
