Ellen Keane will be stepping away from the pool after this year.
She kicked off her “final season” over the weekend but it hasn’t come without its challenges.
The Paralympian has found this year “incredibly tough in the pool”.
She took to Instagram to thank everyone for their support over the years.

“Yesterday I won silver at my last ever world championships,” she wrote alongside pictures of her at the competition.
“I found this year incredibly tough in the pool. I struggled with finding the joy in what I was doing, I had to manage an injury, I began to feel a bit hopeless and my times got slower every time I raced. Honestly I just felt so sad.
“But gradually I began to smile again in the pool and I started to believe that maybe I was capable of getting my times back down.”
She went on to say: “I fought hard and I’m incredibly proud that I’m back smiling and loving what I’m doing.
“I won silver, I swam my fastest time since Tokyo and second fastest time ever and I got a slot for Paris next year.
“Thank you so much for all the love and support over the championships. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
“I’m ready and excited for the final season.”
We’ll definitely miss Ellen in the pool but we can’t wait to see what comes next for her!
