Ed Sheeran’s scheduled concerts in Co.Cork this summer may be in jeopardy.

The three dates in GAA stadium Páirc Uí Chaoimh have come under question as the newly refurbished stadium continues to experience lighting issues, that are a cause for concern for Cork City Council.

The stadium, which reopened on Saturday night, main entrance is poorly lit, and unsuitable for patrons to enter and exit the stadium safely.

Terry Shannon, Cork City Fianna Fáil councillor, has said that the Cork County Board need to address the issues and pay for the lighting to be fixed.

“They haven’t paid up…They need to get the finger out and get on with it, especially with the Ed Sheeran concerts coming down the tracks.” he told the Irish Examiner.

A grant of €700,000 was sought by Cork City Council for upgrades to the public lighting on Monahan Road, Centre Park Road, and the Old Railway Line.
