Ed Sheeran has revealed that his upcoming 3Arena dates are “laying the groundwork” for a Croke Park gig.
Fans were left devastated on Thursday after tickets for Ed’s 3Arena shows sold out in just three minutes – but now it seems fans might get the chance to nab tickets to a bigger and better Ed Sheeran concert in the not so distant future!
The Castle on the Hill singer, who wowed crowds in Croke Park in 2015, has said his upcoming concerts in April will prepare him for his next Croke Park gig.
“Well, for me this isn’t ‘the tour’.” he told Fergal D’Arcy on Today FM
“Me playing the 3Arena isn’t going to be a sh*t gig by any stretch of the imagination, it’s going to be very good.
“But I didn’t want to go straight into Croke [Park], I want to lay the groundwork before going into it.”
Ed’s upcoming tour will coincide with the release of his latest album Divide, which includes a song called Galway Girl.
We’re hoping Ed’s latest comments mean he’ll announce a Croke Park gig very soon – watch this space!
