Dublin’s Philly McMahon paid tribute yesterday to the late Batman Ben Farrell.

The 5-year-old Dublin fan, who won the heart’s of the nation, lost his battle with kidney cancer on the 17th of August.

After Dublin’s epic win against Kerry yesterday, Dubs corner-back Philly posted a pic on social media of himself wearing a Batman t-shirt and credited Ben with helping the lads win the semi-final match.

Taking to social media, he said, “The little batman was watching over us! #BatmanBen.”

A minute’s applause was held in the 5th minute of the game yesterday in Croke Park in honour of Ben, who was a massive Dublin fan. The game was paused and the 80,000 strong crowd clapped for the young boy.

This was a heartwarming touch.
