The Wire star Dominic West has just revealed plans to turn a historic Irish castle into a lavish country hotel in Limerick.

The actor is married to Irish native Catherine Fitzgerald who owns the historic Glin Castle in Co Limerick along with her family.

Although the couple originally planned to sell the property, they found it too hard to sell the family heirloom and decided to transform the castle into a plush hotel.

Dominic told the Irish Independent that selling up was too painful for his in-laws. He said, “Selling up was absolutely heartbreaking for all of us, especially my mother-in-law and my wife, and luckily we’re reopening it as a hotel, all going well, some time next year.”

Wow...
Wow…

The award winning actor also to the paper he plans on being heavily involved in the new venture.

He said, “I’m going to manage it. I want to be in charge, or as much as my schedule will allow. Obviously, there will be someone in place far more experienced and qualified than I coping with the day-to-day. But we want to be there. We’re going to be heavily involved. That’s why we’re moving home to Ireland.”

We can definitely see why they don’t want to leave this beautiful castle behind!
