Dermot O’Leary opens up about shock sack from X Factor

Dermot is one of the best things about the show!

Dermot's Brit Awards co-host has been confirmed.
He is glad to be back.

Dermot O’Leary has opened up about being fired from the X Factor back in 2015.

The presenter began working on the show in 2007 and fans were distraught when he was let go.

The 44-year-old was replaced by Caroline Flack and OIly Murs but bosses soon realised Dermot was the best man for the job and offered him his job back.

Dermot opened up about the difficult time in an interview with This Morning.

Speaking about Simon apologising for the decision, Dermot said:  “We had that conversation a while ago. Simon said sorry as much as Simon can ever say sorry.”

He continued:  “He said he made a mistake, but it was a good mistake, and I was sat there like, ‘How did he turn that around?'”

The host added that he was happy to return to the show.

“I definitely felt refreshed going back to the X Factor, you never know what’s round the corner.”

Auditions for the show ended last weekend, which next weekend’s focusing on bootcamp.

Speaking on this year’s series, Dermot said: “We’re a British celebration of eccentrics. Overall, we’re very comfortable. We enjoy making the show as a team.”
