Irish jockey Nina Carberry impressed everyone during her stint on Dancing With the Stars, taking home the glitterball trophy. And now she’s opening up about life after the big win.

Speaking to The Irish Sunday Mirror, Nina revealed she is looking for something to occupy her time following DWTS, and would consider doing another reality show. But, unfortunately, nothing has caught her eye yet.

Explaining; “We will see what comes along down the line. There is nothing at the minute that I’m mad for.”

“I will find it hard to probably fill the void of Dancing With The Stars though. I have made friends for life from the show. It was such a new world to get into as I had been racing all my life.”

However, one way the Meath woman plans to spend her days following the end of the show, is actually to continue dancing. This time with her husband Ted, and without the judges.

As she said; “When we get a bit of time we will definitely go dancing together because he was helping me trying to get the technique during the show as well.”

While the horse racing star loved her time on the show, there is one big perk to it being over; she gets to spend more time with her daughters Rosie and Holly. The mum of two explained; “We have something planned for, with the girls, maybe Center Parcs, at the end of May so that will be good and the girls are really looking forward to it.”

Another tough part of the show is just how physically intense it can be. As she detailed how tiring dancing was, saying; “It’s so hard going on the body and I don’t think people realise just how fit you have to be to keep it up for a full minute and a half.”

“You are out of breath completely, I have never experienced anything like it. I thought I would be well able for it but I was quickly put back in my box. I have a total respect for dancers now. ”

Nina and her professional dance partner Pasquale La Rocca were crowned the Dancing with the Stars champions for 2022, during the finale. Following 12 weeks of live shows the pair took home the glitterball trophy after their incredible performances week on week.

This isn’t the first time Pasquale has won the show, as he took home the trophy back in 2020 when he was paired with Lottie Ryan. Speaking about working with Irish jockey Nina this year he said she was “a dream woman.”

Nina could also barely contain her delight at winning as she said; “This is an incredible show and I’m delighted to be part of it all!”
