Irish actor Jack Gleeson who played King Joffrey on Game of Thrones, has admitted that he’s very impressed with a fan theory about how the show will end.
The Dubliner was at Comic Con in New York this week, and according to MTV, has become intrigued about possible endings for the show’s finale, despite having no knowledge of what will actually happen.
He said, “This isn’t a spoiler, because I know zero about the show and I literally know nothing about what will happen.
“[A fan] came up with this theory that they told me… someone’s going to melt down the Iron Throne because it has the Valyrian steel that will overcome the White Walkers.
“I think that’s kind of a cool idea — the monarchy is literally dissolved.”
While Joffrey may have been killed off the show during the fourth series – much to the upset of many fans – Jack feels it was the right time to leave, and has no hard feelings about it.
He said, “My dad always said you should never be the last to leave a party. Everyone is sleepy and cranky, and it’s awful. You should leave late but not too late so that the energy is still there. I feel like I left [Game of Thrones] at the right time.”
Despite this, though, the Irish star isn’t keen on watching the hit tv series.
“There’s too much to catch up on. I haven’t a clue what’s going on there,” he said. “It’s crazy. In my mind, all these characters are still alive, and everyone’s in this place, and those people are in that place, and they have these motivations — and now everything has been screwed around so much. It’s a completely different show,” he concluded.
