Fighting superstars Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather may finally be set to come up against one another in the ring, making sports fans dreams come true.
It was announced by Conor’s agent Audie Atter that the Crumlin native has been issued with a professional boxing licence in the state of California. The news was then further confirmed by the California State Athletic Commission.
While a million dollar fight between the two legends has been spoken about in the past, no details have been confirmed yet. Mayweather is retired with an undefeated record of 49-0, but head of UFC Dana White has said that despite his accolades, he should fear McGregor.
Speaking to Hypebeast Dana said, “Conor McGregor, if he touches you, you go to sleep. Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands.
“Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He’s special. Floyd’s never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does.”
Can the Notorious tempt Mayweather out of retirement?
