UFC champ Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay a hefty fee by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his actions at a press conference earlier this year.
Crumlin native Conor threw a glass bottle into the crowd at a press conference for his UFC 202 fight against Nate Diaz in August, but was only fined for the outburst today.
The commission decided on the fee of $150,000 for the 28-year-old, which is 5% of what he took home from the fight itself. He was also ordered to do 50 hours of community service.
Listening to the disciplinary hearing over the phone, Conor agreed that his actions were wrong and he understood that he should be punished. However, that doesn’t mean that he was happy about their decision to fine him.
The Notorious took to Twitter to post his reaction, with his tongue very much in cheek! “I get fined more than these bums get paid,” he said.
