Conor McGregor has turned down a huge Hollywood movie role, which would have seen him star alongside Fast and Furious actor, Vin Diesel.
The Crumlin native has sparked a lot of interest a few months ago with movie bosses, and was approached to feature in XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
Vin Diesel took to social media a number of months ago to hint at their collaboration, sharing a picture of the pair with the caption, ““Timing and precision. The casting of the new XXX gets more exciting everyday. #ILiveForThisShit”
Conor has since spoken out about the role, admitting that despite initially agreeing to the part, he has had to turn it down.
Speaking to The Sun. “I met with this guy before the Aldo fight. The director came out, him and his little team came out and we spoke. I said I’ll do the film.
“Then after the last fight, I rang him up and said, ‘Listen, I can’t go into this film because it’s not something I’m trying to do right now. I need to get that win back and I need to go focus and do what got me here in the first place.
“I disengaged from the film altogether. That was a seven-figure deal that I turned down to prepare for this fight.”
As well as the film with Vin Diesel, Mark Wahlberg also hinted at the possibility of working with Conor in the future. He previously told the Irish Daily Star, “We talked about him for something. We love him.
“With the right role, he could be great. It’s quite possible.”
