Conor McGregor has received a medical suspension following his UFC 202 win against Nate Diaz.
The Notorious came out of the fight with shin and ankle issues, which may see him out of the ring for up to six months. His coach, John Kavanagh, revealed the news that Conor suffered an ankle fracture during the fight.
Following the bloody 25 minute showdown, the Dublin native arrived at his post-fight press conference on crutches and needed assistance standing up afterwards.
According to the Irish Mirror, although the suspension could keep the UFC champ out of the game until 2017, if he gets clearance by an orthopedic doctor he could have it waived. Failing this he will need to be re-evaluated in October.
Nate Diaz was also issued a 30 day medical suspension for his eye which was left swollen and cut following the rumble.
We’re happy to see that the injury hasn’t stopped Conor from celebrating his win while in Las Vegas. We hope he makes a speedy recovery!
