Despite a petition being brought up in the Oireachtas yesterday about the possibility of Conor McGregor being immortalised on a coin, it was deemed inadmissible, and the MMA star isn’t happy.
The petition to get Conor’s face on the €1 coin was sent to Government by Patrick O’Leary, but as he couldn’t be contacted yesterday, the topic couldn’t advance.
And to say Conor is raging, would be a vast understatement – but he did take the news a little better than expected.
The Crumlin native said, “Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Next time petition to stick me on that nice fat purple 500 bill.”

Independent TD Richard Boyd Barrett opened up about the petition, and said that despite their being a “jokey element” to the whole topic, it could be brought up in the future about celebrating Ireland’s high achievements.
Who knows, maybe he’ll get his face on money one day…
