Conor McGregor has gotten behind Irish charity, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust helps Irish families who have lost a loved one abroad in tragic or sudden circumstances. It was set up in 2013 in memory of Kevin Bell, a man from Newry who was killed in a hit and run incident in New York.
The UFC champion heard about the charity through a coach who is helping him train for his upcoming Las Vegas fight.
Conor showed his support by posing for a picture while wearing the Kevin Bell GAA jersey. The pic appears on the charities Facebook page and has already received over 2000 likes.
Alongside the pic the organisers wrote, “Tanya Murphy’s dad took his jersey to Las Vegas and gave it to Conor Mc Gregor. Her dad, Owen Murphy and Conor Wallace from St Monica’s boxing club in Newry are in Las Vegas in a training camp helping Mc Gregor Prepare for his next fight.
“Her dad wanted to get a photo with Mc Gregor to raise awareness for such a great charity. Mc Gregor said he never heard of the charity by after being filled in he said ‘it’s great work you do.”
We’re glad to see he’s using his fame for such a good cause!
