LipGlide Box & Pencil Rich Truffle (rrp€8.95)

Lip Glide Velvet Finish Lip Colour, €8.95 by MeMeMe.

I can’t remember a time when I have not loved a nude, matte lip. I find the whole look so much more effortless and flattering (once you’ve found your perfect shade) than a strong red or a thick gloss. MeMeMe’s latest range of lip colours has a gorgeous neutral shade on offer, Rich Truffle, which is that kind of 90s brown nude that is currently very on trend (think Sophia Vergara or Kylie Jenner). Although the product claims to be hydrating (which it is, a little), I advise letting some lip balm sink in before application for smoother results.

Individual Lashes, €7.20 by Eylure

As someone who proudly wears a full face of makeup daily – rain, hail, or shine – there are only a few other tricks I can use to up my makeup look for a special occasion. One of those tricks is false eyelashes. I’m not a fan of eyelash strips, which I find look quite fake, overdone, and dated, but I do love to use individual lashes for a really natural, eye-opening finish. Eylure’s range at Boots has short, medium and long lengths, so you can decide on you’re own finish.

InTransit Camera Close-up, €39.50 by This Works.

One of my favourite summer holiday products is the This Works InTransit Camera Close-up – a mask, moisturiser and primer in one. I just love the handiness of it, and the fact that the morning after a night out, you can actually feign a radiantly healthy base with just one application. It creates such a lovely canvas for makeup too.

SPRING 2014, 1553

Miracle Gel Colour, €9.99 and Top Coat, €9.99 by Sally Hansen

As a terribly ‘picker-offer’ of nail varnish, it’s hard for me to keep mine on for longer than two days, but the latest range of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel (which provides a gel-like, salon-style finish that lasts up to two weeks) has given me an incentive to try to not do this…and it’s working rather well actually. If left untouched, the polish does stay on for up to 13 or 14 days. My favourite shade? Pink Cadillaquer from the Limited Edition Summer Shades; the bubblegum pink adds some life to my pale complexion.
