Ciarán Hinds will be lighting up our screens once again in The Dry where he plays a character that is very different from his back catalogue.
The series is a dark comedy that sees him play dad, Tom Sheridan. And his co-stars were delighted to get a chance to act with him in the dramedy series.
His on-screen wife, Pom Body enthused: “You won’t find anyone who can say a bad word about Ciarán.”
While his on-screen daughter, Roisín Gallagher had nothing but praise for Ciarán. In fact, she shared the gorgeous advice that the veteran actor gave her.
“He is a phenomenal actor. It was a masterclass,” she tells VIP Magazine.
“I asked him just before we started filming kind of how you spend all day on set all the time. I was nervous about the volume of work. He said, ‘It’s okay to be quiet.’
“And he says things in such a way. He’s really calm to be around. I have always tried to remember that, it’s very simple but it’s very, very good.”

Director Paddy Breathnach also took the opportunity to praise Ciarán, telling us: “One of the common things he brings to all his characters is the humanity.
“He was very happy to take the role on. He read the script and we were delighted. I had met him a few times socially before.
The Dry airs on Wednesday at 9.35pm on RTE One and the RTE Player.
