B*witched are playing at this year’s Electric Picnic!

B*witched has just been announced for this year’s Electric Picnic!

The iconic Irish band are the first act announced as part of the Throwback Stage line-up.

The C’est La Vie hitmakers stormed the charts in the late 90s at home and abroad – becoming one of Ireland’s biggest exports.

They released eight singles, all of which made the UK and Ireland Top 20. Their first four singles, “C’est la Vie”, “Rollercoaster”, “To You I Belong” and “Blame It on the Weatherman”, all reached number one in the UK Singles Chart and earned them over three million albums sold worldwide.

Known for their iconic lyrics ‘Some people say I look like me Da’, wearing lots of double denim and occasionally breaking into an Irish jig, the band gained cult status and are synonymous with 90s nostalgia.

dele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou, and Sinéad O’Carroll; parted ways in 2002 but came back together as part of the ITV documentary The Big Reunion in 2012.

Speaking of the announcement, B*witched said: “We are so excited to headline Electric Ireland’s Throwback Stage at Electric Picnic. It’s always brilliant to come back to Ireland and play to a home crowd. We are really looking forward to breaking out the double denim and having the absolute craic. Rain or shine, it’s going to be an amazing day, and there’s more great acts to be announced. ‘C’est La Vie’ is like our baby so we’d love to see it being brought back.”

The Electric Ireland Throwback Stage has been home to many widely acclaimed throwback act. In the past, Electric Ireland has brought back pop legends 5ive, S Club Party, Ace of Base, Bonnie Tyler, 2 Unlimited, The Vengaboys and Bananarama – to name just a few. B*witched are the first act announced for this year’s Electric Ireland Throwback Stage at Electric Picnic 2018 but there’s lots more line-up news to come.
