Brooklyn has been put in WHAT Netflix category?

Oscar nominated film Brooklyn was added to Netflix recently, much to the delight of film fans. However, it seems that the flick has been put into a category on Netflix that is very disappointing for Irish people.

Brooklyn is based on a novel by Colm Tóibín, it was directed by John Crowley and it stars Carlow native Saoirse Ronan as the lead character, Eilis.

Eilis is a young girl who emigrates from her hometown of Enniscorthy all the way to New York City to build a life there. Couldn’t be more Irish, right? Well, it seems that the people at Netflix don’t agree, as they’ve put the film in the ‘Best of British’ category.

This isn’t the first time this mistake has been made about Brooklyn either. Back in January a Sky News reporter said that Saoirse was “one of our own”, referring to Britain.

Well back off Britain, she’s ours and we hope that Netflix rectify this mishap.
